Hours:             Monday – Thursday

Status:            Full Time

Reports to:     Chief Social Services Officer

 

 

Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Chief Social Services Officer, this position coordinates and provides daily support to the CSSO and Social Services Leadership.

 

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule meetings
  2. Return voicemails and phone calls
  3. Research client needs in HMIS as needed
  4. Run reports in HMIS as needed.
  5. Research regulations as necessary
  6. Read and respond to emails as necessary
  7. Assist other Social Services Leadership as necessary
  8. Attend meetings and take notes as necessary
  9. Proof read grants, contracts, MOUs, etc. as necessary
  10. Draft letters, emails etc. as needed
  11. Order program and client supplies as needed.
  12. Serves as an information collection point between CSSO and case managers.  Ensures data information accuracy.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of local social service agencies and programs, as they pertain to homeless individuals.
  2. Knowledge of social service work, interviewing/referral techniques.
  3. Experience and understanding of homeless issues as they relate to the Southern Nevada community.
  4. Communicate effectively with persons from a variety of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds, and display a demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations.
  5. Effective written, verbal and listening skills, and the willingness to independently initiate and respond to various correspondence.
  6. Ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgement in crisis situations.
  7. Flexible, and able to quickly adjust to shifting priorities.
  8. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, follow employees, other agencies and with the general public.
  9. Organize work schedule and budget time.
  10. Understand and follow all agency policies and procedures.
  11. Experience with data entry and HMIS.
  12. General computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Office software.
  13. Ability to work flexible hours, as required by the program.

 

Qualifications, Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  1. Bachelors degree and 12 months of experience working with social services in So NV 
  2. Knowledge of NV 211 system
  3. Knowledgeable and familiarity with HUD programming.
  4. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.  Random drug screenings are performed.
  5. Must have a current NV driver’s license and clean DMV record.  Driver History Reports are required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.
